Anime frenzy has finally gripped India once again! Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle finally hit the theatres across the country on 12th September. This film’s hype is simply unmatched. Fans have been counting down till the day since the arc was announced. The initial reviews definitely confirm that it is safe to say the film is keeping pace with the hype. The early morning and midnight shows are selling out. The visuals for his film will have your mouth on the ground. Infinity Castle is well on its path towards being among the largest anime releases in 2025.

But why is this film so unique? And what can we expect next for the trilogy? Let’s dive into all you need to know.

A Historic Indian Opening

Anime movies are no longer exclusives in India anymore — they’re breaking box office records. After the blockbuster hit of Mugen Train and Swordsmith Village Arc, Infinity Castle has now joined the club of anime blockbusters in Indian theaters.

Multiplexes in metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad had house-full shows on the opening day itself. The demand was so high that multiplexes introduced midnight shows and early morning shows. This is something which is normally reserved for blockbuster Bollywood or Hollywood superhero films. That says a lot about how Demon Slayer is a global phenomenon and Indian fans are no exception.

One of the strongest reasons why fans are going wild with Infinity Castle is its unforgettable battles.

Shinobu vs Doma – The Revenge Battle

The lovely but lethal Shinobu finally gets to battle Doma, Upper Rank Two. This fight was one of the most eagerly awaited scenes. Her Insect Breathing techniques are showcased in their entirety, with camera work so clear and groundbreaking that the audience literally gasped during some scenes. It’s not merely another fight — it’s personal, as Shinobu is avenging her sister Kanae.

Zenitsu vs Kaigaku – Brothers Turned Foes

This fight between Thunder Breathing warriors is both tragic and exciting. Zenitsu was always the underdog but now he finally gets to face his former equal Kaigaku. The movie tastefully uses emotional flashbacks which reinforces the pitiful bond they shared previously. It’s not so much a fight but a family feud, one abounding with desperation and betrayal.

Tanjiro & Giyu vs Akaza – A Legend Battle

The climactic fight against Upper Rank Three, Akaza is absolutely peak. Tanjiro and Giyu team up for the fight which was totally exciting and eye catching. Akaza’s backstory takes up nearly after half an hour of screen time. His backstory adds more complexity to his character. It reveals that he’s not just an evil but a pitiful one whose history has turned him into the man he is today.

The Emotional Core of Infinity Castle

Unlike other action-hero anime films that focus on combat only, Infinity Castle is different because it’s emotionally resonant. Each of the big fights has a personal stake — whether it’s Shinobu wanting revenge against her sister, Zenitsu dealing with betrayal, or Akaza’s own painful history haunting him.

The movie reminds us why Demon Slayer surpasses ostentatious animation. It is about family, resolve, loss, and how to hope for even the worst possible scenarios.

Music That Makes Every Moment Higher

The background score deserves a special mention here again. Spanning from emotionally melancholic tunes to battle mode high-octane numbers, the score in the background enhances the impact of every frame. The fight scenes are also like music videos on wheels, where every slash and every scream occurs in rhythmic coordination with the score.

When To Expect Infinity Castle Part 2 & 3

If you’re already wondering when the story continues, here’s the update. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle released in September is actually the first part of a trilogy adapting the full arc from the manga.

Part 2: As of now there is no such official release date. But some reports suggest that fans might have to wait until 2027 for its arrival.

Part 3: Expected around 2029, giving the studio two years to perfect each sequel.

Yes, the wait is long — but considering the level of animation and storytelling we’ve just seen, a two-year production cycle seems justified. Better quality over rushed releases, right?

It makes sense to be frustrated when you know you’re going to have to wait years for the trilogy to end. But let’s not forget that — Ufotable’s attention to detail is what makes Demon Slayer so legendary. From how they break down a single sword motion to the emotional depth of a demon’s tear, everything is perfected.

If hasty is second-rate quality, then holding on a little longer is the price we pay for greatness.

Is The Movie Worth It ?

I would say that this anime movie is a must-watch for everyone. It is absolutely worth the hype.

If you’re in India, watching it in theatres should be at the top of your list. The big screen experience — the sound, the visuals, the crowd reactions — makes it ten times better than streaming it at home.
